If you have hair that falls any longer than about halfway down your neck, you know how difficult it is to keep your hair pulled back while cleansing or applying makeup. The Tassi is a soft, terry cloth hairwrap that has elastic all around the outside. It slips on easily and keeps hair pulled back and tucked up without scrunching, mussing, pulling, or making those weird indentions ponytails make. I like that it's wider on one side than on the other. When I have my hair fixed, I put the wider section to the back of my head and push my hair into it. If I'm just washing my face, I'll put the wide section to the front to keep all my hair out of my face, sort of like an extra wide headband. The Tassi comes in 12 colors, and is machine washable. Like a good washcloth, it becomes softer with each washing and the thick elastic means that it won't fall apart quickly. The uses are many.. if you are one of the few who still use foam curlers, it will hold them in place while you sleep and it might even make it more comfortable. Think of the Tassi as a love child of a shower cap and a headband! This would make a great gift, and is sure to become a must have for your morning routine.

My skin needs a deep moisturizer in the wintertime. My family heats with wood, which dries my skin out so fast, it seems overnight. My conundrum, though, is that if I use a moisturizer that is the least bit greasy, it makes me break out very quickly. I was so happy to try Nurture My Body's Vita C Cream, because it deeply moisturizes without being oily or greasy. It's list of ingredients includes green tea, carrot CO2, various organic flowers and roots, plus the perfect blend of soothing essential oils. It's a yellowish cream color, and while it is shiny in the jar, it goes on smoothly and rubs in easily, leaving no residue. The scent reminds me of dried roses and calendula flowers, with a hint of lavender. The label says to gently massage into neck and face, but my jar has also found a "unlabeled usage" life as an amazing nighttime foot cream. It works wonders on rough, dried skin, and it makes my face incredibly soft and smooth.

I love that the company lists the ingredients of their products on their website, they use no chemical preservatives, and they use eco-friendly  packaging. My sample came in a blue glass jar, and long after the cream is gone, the jar will have another life as a tealight holder for my bathtub! Also, a huge plus for me is that Nurture My Body doesn't test on animals! In all, I think this cream is a great value for the price, and a little really does go a long way.  My feet get very dry quickly in the wintertime, most likely because we have a wood furnace. I tried this lotion out at night, before I went to sleep. It feels very moisturizing and only minimally oily. The scent is pleasant enough, nothing amazing, but for super dry skin, the results are more important anyway. I rubbed it in well and put on a thick pair of cotton socks. In the morning, my feet were super smooth and I could see a noticeable difference from the night before in how dry my feet felt. The box says it helps heal extremely dry skin in 5 days, and I think it does live up to my expectations. The active ingredient is dimethicone, a skin protectant, and it has other ingredients such as glycerin to help moisturize. It's an OTC drug that meets FDA requirements for skin protectant body lotions. I highly recommend this lotion for very dry skin, especially skin that's exposed to cold, dry air.

My mom used to make homemade granola a lot. I remember helping her pick out ingredients and mix them together in a big bowl and waiting for them to bake in the oven.
